I'm watching "Basic Instinct" for the 1st time in a while and its another movie added to the list that have little Wagoneer 'cameos'
You see a good bit of Broncos in movies, but I've seen a seemingly countless number of movies with a Wagoneer.

I heard from my dad that since AMC is no longer in business they use Wagoneers/Grands gratuitously in advertising because there's no one left to pay royalties to. I don't know if there's any hard proof on the matter, but it'd explain why they show up in ads so often. I don't mind one bit though .

Thats an interesting point to consider, though they are usually accompanied by other makes and models and it would seem crazy that a film producer would have to pay royalties to every auto manufacturer that popped up on the screen...........but there are only so many auto manufacturers and ,of course, you know when you see a pepsi can or a snicker bar you know who's gettin' payed......

I guess I was more on track for the recent surge of JCPennys ... er Macy's ads with Grand Wagoneers. Also, the newer Wrangler Jeans commercials. Some movies have them in as main vehicles as opposed to cameo roles a la Enemy of the State.

In without a paddle its their main form of road transportation as well.... Wouldnt the royalties thing go the opposite way. Like snickers or pepsi have to pay the movie makers to put their name in the movie.
I hate when they do this in movies. Lately it has seemed that cellphone brands are the worst about it. It is always such an awkward and pointless schene where they show the brand name
