Recently I tried to install the juicebox TFI kit on my 83 cherokee 6cy. I used the same coil, cap, etc. on my 81 and it worked fine. Put it on the 83 and nothing. Is the wiring different on the 83? or could someone have changed it? I'm not sure what the PO had done to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my electrical skills aren't too keen.

Brie':

Don't know of any specific issues between '81 & '83, but must admit that I've no practical experience with six-slugs of that era. I'd suspect that something non-OEM is wonky in the coil feed line. This is completely out of left field / right brain, but try adding a motor-chassis ground.

do you have spark at the coil, at the spark plugs.... just put a new spark plug on a disconnect spark plug wire

Double-check the polarity of your connection from the new coil to old wiring. You may have reversed it. On the new coil, look down inside the well where the plug is and you'll see + and -. "Red cross"
