Sweet!!!

If you're talking about the rear quarter panel, then yes.

There are several vendors making a bunch of different sheetmetal panels, including the rear quarters (at least the lower part I'm sure). Check the forum under the Vendors link.

EDIT - as Ethan wrote above... pretty cheap too.

That's sweet. If I owned it I would try to keep it stock looking. Period paint scheme, keep the interior correct. What a find that was!

Welcome from SW CO! First year AMC dash. Pretty color! 73 grill is commonly called the cheese grater and was only used 3 years. The basic Wagoneer body like yours was pretty much the same 63 through 83 so you got one in the middle. Should be pretty easy to find a factory luggage rack available from other members here if you post in wanted section. Your style luggage rack was used 63-73. I have a couple from the 74-77 era and also an 88. Have fun! :fsj:

Many of the new spray on rust converters are good for the short term. Lightly sand (medium grit) to knock off any powered rust, and then spray liberally. Any oxide left will turn black - bare metal will get a THIN coating of clear. When it's dry, lightly sand/buff the area again (fine grit) and spray on a good primer/sealer. Next spring you can take what's left down to metal and weld in new panels.

SOLENOID DID NOT WORK! dome light is very dim! swtiched the batt back outta the cj5 and same thing! ugh!:(

The alternator is probabley shot. Your battery is only there for starting the engine. After the engine is running, you should be able to disconnect the battery cables and the alt will produce enough power to keep it running. It will only run on battery power alone long enough to drain the batt, then the engine will die. This explains why the CJ batt keeps it alive. It still has a good charge but not for long. The P.O was probabley correct about adding a master switch due to an electrical drain somewhere. You have a direct short somewhere in your wireing. Probabley a ground. Have the alt checked at your local parts store before you do anything. If its history, then you know where to begin. If not, have fun tracing wires. I suspect you have a bad alt and due to the amount of corrosion on the underside of the vehicle the short requiring the batt switch could be a ground wire problem somewhere down there.

I was gonna say check that pos battery cable.
You also might investigate the glove box light. They seem to be a source of battery drains.

Welcome --

Just over the state line in Kansas...just outside of Kansas City.

Locally on the Kansas City craigslist you will find folks parting later model wags --

Here is a link to an 87 -- I don't see too many older rigs and yours looks very nice for this area. Good luck --

other then painting the black back on the brake pedal, its nearly flawless....needs a minor detailing, but thats about it....

and to the guy from the kc area [forgot to write down your name] i live about 4.5 hrs to the northeast of kcmo....right up in the corner where IA< IL< and MO all meet up! if your into rockabilly music, check out the rumbletts there in kc..they play our hotrod show in may every yr...along with other kc bands.......

I keep looking at that interior and making WOW sounds!

If the dash and panels weren't enough the headliner is STUNNING!

Don't see any of those in that condition often.....especially when a luggage rack is nearby.
Good luck with your Waggy project!

A VERY good point about the seats!
I'm so used to the flintstones seat thing I didn't even notice till you mentioned it. As you said...had the previous owner washed it with a few times it would be immaculate.
