So what is your opinion of this case and It should be a direct swap for 229 shouldn't it?

This is about 1600.00 so it would be cheaper than the atlas.

I don't know about the direct swap question but that looks like one heck of a transfercase.

This is about 1600.00 so it would be cheaper than the atlas.Yes, you can get it with the 23 spline output and it will bolt in place of a 229. These are highly regarded and strong. I think it is an excellent way to get into lower gears for a lot less.

OR would you splurge and get the Atlas instead. I kinda like the 2wd lo option of the atlas

Nice looking case, atlas has more "wow" factor but don't know if you'll really notice the difference from the front seat.
