I have a small NOS AMC Jeep unit (ABC) I picked up for the build. If I could find it I snap a pic. Has the logo on it.

The key that you need to remember is it needs to be a class A, B or C
Fire extinguisher. These are all powder type extinguishers, you do not want to use a water extinguisher on a vehicle that has burning fuels as you will just spread the fire.
As far as size I carry around a 9lbs but you can never really go to big.

A red one. It sits on the door side of my drivers seat on the floor.

ABC rated, any UL listed firebottle will do. I use the "small" one I got from Wal-Mart. Had it for years...as long as it has pressure, it should be GTG. Just remember to shake it up once a year or so...if it's in the same position all the time the dry chemical inside tends to pack down with the vibration.

OH...:o
I thought i should not have a ABC one - one more geared towards fuel fires......
Ok ...thinking about the ones in my house , they dont have any way to "clamp/secure" the to the floor of my rig....dont want a missle flying around while wheeling or in a accident,
guess i'll have to shop around:(

The other thing you need to remember is that the cheap ones that you buy at your local hardware store do not last all that long. So check to gauge often and shake it to see if there is still movement inside the bottle. It doesn't do much good to have a extinguisher in your truck or car that can no longer work.
These tools can save your jeep or other car from significant damage or could possibly even save a life. So be sure to check them often enough so if you do have to use them you will have confidence that it will work and do the job that you need it to do.

I believe you can find brackets for them or you can get ones for the the car that have brackets with it.
I myself am a very bad example and I only put mine in when I go out to go wheeling so I don't burn the forest down.
Shame on me I guess!

A large one. It's about half the size of the ones you see at gas stations and buildings and such. Bigger the better when it comes to Fire extinguishers.

I talked to a firefighter once and asked him about rechargeable ones. He said to get one that didn't have a plastic top. I guess they can only recharge the ones with metal fittings. <shrug>
You do want to keep an eye on the charge gauge. They self discharge over time.

You will spend more money on the rechargeable ones but they can always be serviced if you remember to do so.
The ones that you would buy (as far as I know any way) at your home improvement or auto arts or where ever like that are not rechargeable.
They are usually the plastic one time shot deals.
