I don't hang around this section of the forum much so I don't know if this topic has been beat into the ground or not.
I am considering a locker for my J20. I currently have ARB's in my Wagoneer but I want to try something different. The OX seems interesting to me because of it's simple operation. This J20 will have a mostly stock 258 I6 so strength is not a big concern but reliability/dependability are. What has worked well for you guys? Looking for input on lockers only, no limited slip or traction assist devices thank you.

A guy in my jeep club had 2 of them and loved them once he got the shift cables set up right. But setting them up seemed like a nightmare asd had some issues with cables.

Once the cables are set up, they work great. I talked to the OX owner a couple times trying to get one working. Eventually he said to disregard the instructions and set it up by feel. Once I did that, it went quickly.

Oh, and make sure the cable is kept away from the exhaust.

I know Michael on here has one in his front 60 and he loves it and i was quite impressed as well. Not once did it not engage when the lever was pulled and it never disengaged while locked. Stayed locked up even under some throttle up some gnarly trails.

Only real draw back is it takes about 10 feet of movement to full engage, but thats no biggie because you should be lockin it up before you get on the trail anyways.

every person I've talked to that has it loves it and prefers it over the ARB / etc. (especially after they got the cables set up correctly). A lot of folks try to install the cables and shifters w/o reading the instructions, and they tend to have issues. When I can save up some $$, I'd love to buy a set myself.

Thanks for the responce guys.
I would like to congratulate all of you for having the correct answer!
Has anyone heard about cable routing issues (interference with tire/wheel) on the front axle?
