Hey I was looking to put some 14.5 wide tires on some rims I found and I was wondering if a 3.5" backspace would work. Has anyone tried this? I have stock axles with SOA and cut fenders. OK here's to crossed fingers someone has tried this before. :)
THanks
OH yeah this would be a 10" wide rim.

I have been running 10" wide 3.5" BS wheels for years with no issues.
Although 14.5" tires may rub a wee bit more than my 12.5" tires.

I was running 35x14.50x15 Boggers on my Cherokee W/T with a 4" lift and the rims were 15x10 with a 3.75 backspacking. The lugs on the tires came extremely close to the leaf springs at full turn but never rubbed at all. Having only 3.5 backspacing should buy you a little more room as well.

Good to hear. I'm gonna go with the 3.75 if I have to but am looking for 3.5s. OK now that's pretty much settled it's on to find a new hood. :D

Look in the "For Sale" section. There is a supplier selling nothing but good used hoods.
