After much debate, we've decided to move back to Knoxville. Had just about enough of Texas. I resigned my position at work last night. Sold the house after 3 weeks on the market.
Decided to continue with ClassicGrandWagoneers once we get settled back in Knoxville. I'm also starting my own vertical concrete overlay business called Flexible Concrete Solutions.
I agreed to finish out the end of the year at work, or until they find somebody to replace me. I can't wait to head home and get started with this new chapter in my life. :drivin:

Cool, now you are closer to me :). Given choice, I would probably prefer Tennessee over Texas.
I'm hoping for a successful concrete and also Grand Wagoneer business in Tennessee.
Have fun with the move. Enjoy it :).

Awesome Jim. Congrats. Now you are much closer to me so that increases the likelihood if me being able to come visit and see what you're working on sometime!
You know, Texas just isn't my cup of tea, either. My dad is from Texas and we quit going out there to visit family years ago....they have to come to Orange Beach, AL if they want to visit us because let me tell you, Orange Beach is ten, twenty times nicer than Texas! lol.
Oh and I am glad to hear you're going to continue Classic Grand Wagoneers. Good luck with the move and getting situated.

My Dad's folks were from Tennessee and I visit from time to time. Mom's brother lives there now, by way of Hawaii & South Dakota. Me?? I grew up all over the world and lived abroad most of my life. Despite my Tennessee roots, I didn't leave anything there when I left. Just can't handle any place east of the Mississippi.
Texas is home and always will be for me. I like the independence and the individuality of the people here. That being said, good luck on your new indeavors.

Sounds great! Your house sold quickly. I was wondering what your other business was going to be. Good luck with everything. Oh and Texas already has enough GW retailers(2?), we need one a little further up north.

I don't blame you one bit, Texas ain't what it use to be.
Not that long ago it was not very crowded, Interstates were flowing, people were friendly and courteous, and everything was far less expensive. People would actually move over on 2 lane roads to let you pass, that very rarely happens anymore. Now what we use to call the "passing lane or fast lane" is just a magnet for oblivious slow drivers.
I have 11 1/2 years to go before I can retire. At that point, Montana maybe in my future. It still seems to be like the "old Texas".

Sorry to hear that you are leaving Texas and the DFW Metroplex. I'd have to agree with GWDriver as well as Daddio, there are some things that have changed in some areas of Texas over the years, but Texas will always be home to me. But I'm glad that you know where you want to go and are looking forward to moving there. Best of luck on your new ventures and at your new residence, and glad to see that you are keeping the business going.
