OK, I have a TF 727 in right now and would like to keep the TH 400 from a waggie I'm parting. Anyone know if I can use it in the same place as the TF? Will an NP 208 bolt to it? (it currently has a QT unit hooked to it). LMK soon as I'm swapping stuff this week.

Thanks!

Sorry Jake but I think that the bolt patterns tween the th-400 and the tf 727 are different. Also the 208 won't bolt to the th-400. It is different then the gm's. You could check AA to see if they have an adapter. Your best bet would be to get a GM th-400 with a 208 and just have to get the adapter tween the motor and the tranny. Either way you will need an adapter and they aren't cheap either.

Mud:

Thanks for the reply, but the TH 400 I have is an AMC bolt pattern (from my '74) at the engine anyway, what I'm looking for is if the NP 208 AM will fit where the QT bolted to the TH 400?

No it will not fit. The TH400 has a very distinctive out put shaft that only works with the QT. Also the adapter for the qt is a four bolt pattern and the 208 is 6 and circular (I believe). Sorry won't work.

my QT has six bolts and it is curcular

now getting a tailshaft that will work would be a big pain don't chevy 208s work on a TH400?

i think i would take picking up a chevy TH400 And NP208 and recase the tranny(pull the chevy guts out and ram them into the AMC case)

right guys?
