Well, I've been watching this Jeep for about 6 weeks now and finally got to drag it home today. The seller and I are both Active military, and our schedules just didn't mix.
I went down to Andrews AFB in DC and pulled my new project home.
76 Cherokee, 360, T-18, D20.
Swapped in J20 axles, NO RUST! (My 06 Ram has more rust than this!)
It has a few problems that I'm sure will be fixed in short order. The engine has a miss, carb needs rebuilding, the front seats are torn, and a few little odds and ends.
Its good to have a FSJ again!
John
Oh, the pics!

NICE! Axle upgrade to boot. Exactly what I'm looking for in my next addition. Cool color too; don't see too many like that.

congrats, I remember seeing this on ebay about a month ago. This is the only other FSJ I've seen with the same exterior and interior color as my 76 J10, which is probably why I remember it.

X2 on the color. I like the white rims and white top on the green.
Straight body with an axle upgrade....Dig it! Nice score. :)

Thank you for your service to our country! Nice Score! 15x10 white wagon wheels would look perfect! White over green, my plans exactly for my 69. No buyers' regret there, sellers' maybe...:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I did the Vin lookup and it seems like this started out as a 4BBL/ Auto/QT. There is a 2BBL on top now.
There is a 2-4 by DNE2 sticker in the glove box.
The 60 hits the Fuel tank skid (very low IMO) But I think a SOA/Shackle flip will happen sooner than later.
The PO threw a set of H2 rims in the back that I'm considering.
Work tomorrow includes a tune up, clean up, and ordering some parts.

That looks AWSOME! Best looking Cherokee I have ever seen. The wheite wheels and large truck tires really set it off.

It's strange. I have a well known white stamped steel rim fetish for J-trucks but I think wagon wheels look a little better in WT Cherokees. But it's certainly a very nice Jeep.

Lol. People can keep thier high dollar aluminum wheels. A good old stamped steel white or silver wheel is all I need to make me happy. Doesn't even need a hub cap!
I like the GM style ralley wheels on Chero's myself, I just think this one looks great with the 3/4/1-ton wheels on it. Very utilitarian!
