Good evenin yall. I had the great pleasure of purchasing a 1976 Jeep Wagoneer from grand_wag_85 (Sean). Sean started out in Colorado last Friday morning. We agreed to meet in Staunton, VA where 81 and 64 intersect. Sean was heading to PA and NY so it was easier to meet there instead of him driving all the way out to Suffolk, VA. It saved him a lot of time. Sean was flat towing the Jeep with a Harbor freight tow bar behind an old "tank like" International truck.

One day into the trip, Sean was taking a turn and the tow bar crumbled. He said "It folded like a piece of spaghetti." He decided the the easiest and cheapest way to go was to rent a U-Haul trailer (which turned out to be a great decision).

After some traffic and a few days of traveling, we finally met in Staunton around midnight on Monday. We did a lot of walk arounds the Jeep and he gave more information than my tired brain could hold on to. After moving some stuff around and attaching the trailer to my truck, it was about 2am on Tuesday morning. We took a few pics (see link below) and we parted ways.

My girlfriend tagged along with me and she needed to hit the bathroom before we got on the road. As I walked back to my truck I noticed my rear passenger tire was a little low. It wasn't low enough (so I thought) to really worry. Well, we got on the road and I just kept thinking about that dern tire. My gut was telling me to stop. So I did. I started putting air in the tire and I here air coming from somewhere. Low and behold, my valve stem was leaking pretty bad. So, needless to say, I am glad I listened to my gut. My truck is an 06 and the spare has never been touched. I threw the spare on and aired it up a tad. By the time I got back in the truck and got on the road it was close to 3am. I will ALWAYS listen to my gut from here on out.

I arrived back to my house around 645am. The U-Haul trailer towed like a dream. No issues what so ever (thank you so much Sean). I unloaded the Jeep and got my first sound of what a slipping QT sounds like. But after that long trip the Jeep fired right up!! I parked in the driveway and immediately took the trailer back to U-Haul. I then hustled home and took a shower. I had a doctors apt at 8am. I barely made that apt and then headed to work at 11am. I worked till 6pm that night. I came home, ate dinner and went straight to bed. I was up close to 40 hours. I was beat, lol.

The long trip was well worth it. If yall ever get the chance to meet or deal with Sean, he is a great guy. He told me every issue that Jeep had and the communication was terrific. He did not try to sugar coat anything and he was up front the entire time. He is a stand up guy. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH SEAN!!

Please stay tuned. I have big plans for this Jeep. I still have not thought of any names, so if yall have any suggestions, please toss them my way. I have a few pics and there will be more to come!! Once again, thank you Sean for all your help!!

That other thread should be moved over to here.. That's what happens when you let people from Missouri start threads. ;)

Sean is a great guy. He spent 36 hours here on this trip. We did some wrenching, eating and alot of talking. My neighbors all thouht that blue way was mine. They didn't believe me it wasn't, until Sean left to go meet up with you.

Looks nice! What are your plans?

The first things on my list are to rebuild the QT, replace the tranny mount, and replace the pinion seal in the rear end. I plan on pulling the entire interior out and painting it and putting new carpet and vinyl in it. The interior panels are in pretty good shape. They just need a good cleaning and the carpet on the bottoms replaced. I plan on doing some custom fiberglass speaker enclosures for the back and somehow repair the dash pad. I have a few ideas for that.

I want to put either a 4” or a 6” lift on it. I haven’t decided which one yet. I want to run 33” tires, so I am leaning towards the 6”. It currently has a 360 in it but it originally had a 401. I am silently on the look out for one!! If I can’t find one the 360 will be plenty enough for me.

My plans are normal, lift it and make it pretty, lol :fsj:

www.justdashes.com (http://www.justdashes.com) in Burbank Calif. will make your dash like new for 600 bones plus shipping. They did mine and it is like new...you can even delete the radio holes if you please. Call Brent at BJS Offroad and Zack at ZMJEEPS for your parts... :drivin:

I have already ordered a ton of parts from Bj's. They are great!! My 85 has gotten a lot of parts from them too, lol. Work is holding me back right now. Only one more day then my vacation starts!!

on the pic of the interior, is that radio thingy on top of the dash somehow formed into the dashpad, or does it just look like it is?

The radio holder thingy is not formed into the dash pad. It is an aftermarket radio holder from Crutchfield. It works out pretty well for now. It covers the broken hole from the speaker cover. It is pretty neat though.

Really interested in the fiberglass speaker enclosures. Make sure you post pics of all the mods, I love watching these things transform!

I'm in PA for a few weeks. Wrenched 3 days non stop on the Dodge to get it going and have quite a bit to do to the J10. I might drive the J10 back and come back for the IHC later, dunno yet.

When I say that Sean's International was "Tank like" I meant it!! It must sit on a tank frame like that one J10 for sale around here in VA!!
