Well I discovered today that my driver side motor mount is seperated. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for replacing it? Also, is this one of those instances where you might as well change the other one at the same time? Thanks for the input.

Chucks Truck......Some times you can put a strong c-clamp on the mount 'till you can fix it. The other side sometimes will last 'bout 1/3 longer. Be sure to check the rear. If it's broke do it first so the engine will be lined up right  .... ;) ...ds..

Not too bad a job Chuck. Support the engine, four nuts each and out they come. I would replace the pair, you're already greasy. ;)

unbolt the mount from the frame bracket, then unbolt the bracket from the motor. Jack up the engine with a block of wood under the harmonic balancer. The mount and engine bracket will come right out. replace the mount on the engine bracket, then reinstall the whole assy in the truck. You can do this with one or both mounts at a time. I recommend replacing them both. DENNIS

Agreed scoutgrl, do them both & the tranny mounts while you're there. Why come back later?

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like the concensus is to replace both while I am at it. So guess I will hit NAPA first thing Monday and get at it.

I got my motor mounts from Napa...
The bolts that came with it were metric, but the holes in the mounts were standerd.

So beware.

Just beware that many of the less-expensive replacement mounts use coarse-thread studs and don't come with new nuts and lockwashers. The factory used fine-thread nuts, which will screw up the threads if you are greasy and tired and you try to reuse them (AMHIK).

So make sure you've got the right nuts for the studs.

I had heard that Daystar's motor mounts were life-time guaranteed? Anyone else hear of this?
