In 1982- my truck… What was the difference between a 4 door Cherokee Chief and a Wag? Was the Wag more expensive? What was the deal? I was 10 in 82 so I don’t remember!!!

In 82, I Don't know if the 4 door Chief sticky paper was an option or not,
but in general the big differance between a 77-83 Wagoneer and a 4 door Cherokee was the tail lights and options packages. Wagoneer was the up-scale model while the Cherokee was the low end, you could get most all the fancy stuff on the Cherokee, but you had to check more boxes.

ok- cool- I have always wondered... My Cherokee has power everything- and 100% of the fancy options. But it has a 258 and a 5-speed... I have not come across another exactly like it.

I love having the 5-speed and 258...

Yes and I had a Grand-Wagoneer with a 208-T case, vinal bench seats, manual windows, no AC, vinal floors and dumbo mirrors, just the way things went, Jeep at one time built them any way you wanted them.
Under the fluff they are all same.

In 1977, the four door Cherokee was introduced. This looked very much like the Wagoneer but sported less fancy trim and used the grill like the two door models. 4 door cherks are fairly rare. 4 doors were all narrow track.

I looked for my Cherokee for a long time! Dont be too jealous- all that power stuff is a drag to keep working!

My boyfriend SWEARS up and down that the waggy is longer than the Cherokee. can someone with both Plz prove one of us right? lol

(four door cherokee, and 2 door cherokee plz.. cause he's just being a pita about this.. lol)

LOL. He's being a PITA. They are all the same. They look different, but they aren't.

they have the same frame and same general body.
