I have a 89 GW 360/TF727/NP229 , currently has 4” springs front and AAL + 2” block rear, 1” BL, rolling on 32x11.50s. Because I needed another excuse to drink beer in my garage this winter I have decided to swap in some WT axles that I already have (D44/AMC20w/tracloc).
At the time I do the swap my plan is to also swap a 208 for the 229. I also wish to add BJ’s shackles on front and go up to 3” blocks in the rear to run 33x12.50s that I already have.

My question is about driveshafts. Should I get the 208 donor rear shaft or a QT shaft for the rear. And what do I need to do about the front ?

Was the donor a WT Cherokee? If so, you get the rear drive shaft with the axles? That will do. Or if you didn't get the drive shaft from the axle donor, a V8/QT Wag/Chero rear one will work. I am running a QT driveshaft on my 88 GW 208 with 5" lift. Fronts are the same between the QT and NP V8 combos.

Yes, the axles/208 donor was a WT Cherokee but the driveshaft is missing. I have my choice from another NT 208 shaft or a QT V8 shaft.

lengths should be very close - use one and carry the other as a spare

anybody got any specs on these driveshafts. I recall a link here with fsj ds measurements but i cant find it anymore. What is the compressed-extended specs on a shaft for the np208 or a V8 QT.

btw, fulsizjeep, I think I love Sampson !
