My cousin just bought a 1948 Chevy one ton ex-fire department truck and he's looking for a different rear axle. It currently has the Eaton in it, but he would like a SRW D60/D70 for better parts availability and gear selection. Does anyone know of a good online resource of stock axle measurements? The measurements he gave me off of the current axle are:
54" backing plate to backing plate(he says he could go as wide as 58" on this)
41.5" center to center on the spring pad
4" stub housing(he'd like to keep the stock 8-lug wheels on it)
