Whats the largest tire/wheel that can be held using the original undermount spare holder?

I've had a 31x10.5x15 under an '85 GW. I had to use a floor jack to lift it and hold it while I got it latched on the stud. Would have been a PITA to switch in the field.

The W/T Cherokee had a longer swing hanger [that held the 30" or 31" tire] than what the Wangoneer had.

I think the trucks can hold a larger tire as they have wider frames. My M715 fits the stock 900-16 tire which is about 34-35".

Thanks. Mine had a drop hanger, but no bar when I got it. I just picked up a bar off of a GW along with it's hitch. It looks like I should be able to make them work on the 77 Chero no problem, but didn't know what she would hold.

TPI, how long is your drop swing hanger?
