hi guys,
anyone familiar with the np208 flag lever? i discovered today that my 208 is not shifting back into 2wd. can that be adjusted? it does seem to have a lot of slack in it. any help would be appreciated.

The rubber bushings may be shot. There should be one on the shifter and one on the transfer case.

There are adjusting nuts on the linkage that could be loose. I also had a cotter pin fall out once, but that caused the whole linkage to disconnect.

thanks guys. could there be something internal with the 208 that would keep from going back to 2wd? the 208 seems solid, doesn't make any noise, and has the fluid up to level.

The 208 is pretty simple and I'd be surprised if it's internal. If there was that much slop inside then you'd probably hear some strange noises coming from it too. I'm betting it'll be clear once you crawl underneath and yank on the linkage in a couple places.

I have a lever assembly from an 81 that had a 219 in it. They are all basically the same except for the handle on NP2xx setups...
