...but is there any possible way to remove the woodgrain on a GW and SAVE it in prep. for paint? I am really fond of it and would like to save it and put it back on after painting since it seems I can't find a pattern to match. TIA

Nope.

You can be REALLY careful and POSSIBLY remove the trim, but I don't know of a way of saving the woodgrain.

Maybe use a heat gun and remove it with out streching it.Then re glue it using scotch spray adhisive? Seems that it might be worth a try. Why not just mask it off if its in that good of shape.

I doubt you could save it (the woodgrain), but who knows. Maybe try to tape/mask it all off and paint around it?

I thought there was a grafix company that made replica decals like the woodgrain and the honcho decals?

Just about any graphics shop should be able to duplicate the style with a digital pic. I have our guys do body wraps all the time with anything I want. We are working on a expedition trailer that we are going to cover in river rock? Should be fairly easy id think. But I thought he wanted to save the original and re use it?

BJ's sells the whole kits, and there were/are a couple of people in this forum trying to work out the details on the woodgrain the last I heard. If you can afford it you can replace it after painting. Painting around it would be the budget deal if yours is in good shape and not bubbling/rusting underneath.

yes, we carry all three varieties of woodgrain on our site. Never seen anybody able to save the grain during removal.
