After last time out, i see that getting things in a twist, Ive pulled the shifter pivot arm from the tranny to the frame loose from the frame. I can fix it but its got me thinking about a new shifter using a cable instead of a linkage. Maybe a horseshoe style shifter from a chevelle.
Any one running anything similar?

Here is my Toyota LC shifter (installed the wrong way:rolleyes: ) works fairly good a bit loose but the transgo shift kit tells me when its in gear :p . A flat-bar is welded to shift fork with holes for the shift cable bolt. Took a bit testing to find the correct position for correct shifting movement. Has neutral safety switch and the red button works (manual release of shifter when engine is not running, releases when engine running) The LC shifter are with dual cables, one goes to the ignition key this is removed as it is not needed. I installed the shifter the wrong way so the cable is out of the way for the transmission floor cover and the shifter is from a right hand driven Toyota. It cost me $30 from local surplus store in Subic PH

That's an interesting shifter. Makes me wonder if there's any chevy trucks that had a floor shifter that I could steal one from.
