So when selling an engine does the flexplate go with it? Or, is the flexplate something that stays with the torque converter and tranny? Thanks

i say the flex plate would stay with the engine since its attached to the crank and the torque is part of the trans.

if its original it should go with the engine since it will be balanced to that engine

It does to me, thats why I asked.:p I'm putting in a new 401 & would like to keep my fairly new flexplate but didn't want to keep it if I really shouldn't.

Unless it's a rare one or you can't get it anymore, I'd sell the engine without it.
If it's even slightly nicked, I'd want to put a new one in since you have to remove the motor to replace it.
I don't like doing the same job twice when it could have been done right the first time.
