Has anyone seen the 401 blocks at P.A.W. ? Are these blocks NOS, or are they having them made again. Referring to the ones not marked as remaned. Also are the remaned any good?
Thanks,
Jim

They won't be NOS, and the only new blocks are aluminum made by Indy Cylinder Head.

First, Welcome from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
PAW units that are not marked as manufactured, are used blocks and are machined.
Here is what their web page reads:
https://secure.pawengineparts.com/shoppingcart/ShowItem.cfm?itemid=71146&catid=1475
PAW Fully Machined Factory Block Only Special
PAW is now offering for a limited time fully machined factory blocks! These blocks receive the full treatment from our in house machine shop. They are Hot Tanked, Bored oversized, Line Honed, Decked, New Cam Bearings Installed and Brass Freeze Plugs Installed. The lifter gallery is painted with Rustoleum to aid in oil return, Oli gallery holes are threaded and tapped and screw in plugs are used. These blocks are ready for assembly! Limited quantities check with salesman for additional information.
Sadly, their web page reads the same for the remanufactured blocks.
These two products have different part numbers and reman units are $100 more.
I dunno what $100 buys a person.
Am surprised to see PAW offer 343 and early 390 blocks! NICE!

Goin' on memory here, but a few years ago they started offering sleeved blocks in factory original bore diameters - no doubt to make use of blocks that are at their max. usable bore. Don't know if that's the difference or not.
