Okay, while I was out getting new tires mounted, my favorite UPS guy dropped off my Rusty's 4" w/add-a-leafs 8^). I haven't even had a chance to open the box up, but it appears as though the add-a-leafs are pretty long. I took a quick glance at the stock rear springs, and noticed that they have thick metal straps, obviously to hold the leaves in line. So, how do you get those straps off? It looks as though they will have to be removed to install the extra leaf.

They definitely have to be removed. I got the spring pack holder apart with a vise grip. I ended up putting my AAL's as the third leaf from the top. You use a C or U shaped vise to hold the spring pack together when you are re-installing it. I also put a screwdriver in the center-hole to keep them aligned (The bolt that comes with rusty's kit seemed like the threads would get trashed if I used it, so I put it in last.) The other thing is that I had to use a prybar to re-seat the spring in the perch. It's pretty easy. good luck.
