Any good way to keep the hood locked shut on an older FSJ with the external hood release?

I wish mine was even half as sweet at the white wag Flint.
Ryan-
That's kinda what I figured, I just don't want my battery or anything else from under the hood to disappear while stored.

This is along the lines of what Ryan said. I had a girlfriend with an old buick that someone stole the battery out of. Her dad got a long length of small chain and ran it through the hood frame and then down around the frame. when you wanted the hood open, you lay on the ground and unlocked a padlock. Kinda redneck but pretty effective.

ok the right way to do it would be to rig up a cable system thats better than the cheesy stock one. Get a later hood bar latch, a stout universal cable pull kit, and rig it up.
I suppose you could still use the stock bar, but unless you're running a grill you cant reach into (like a boobie) thats not gana stop anyone.
