Crane springs seem too large...

Have a new set of Crane valve springs and they are much larger in diameter and height than the stock ones...it seems that I will have to flycut the heads to keep them in place...has any one had this problem ? :(

Crane has a bad habit of selling Ford and Chevy valve train parts as AMC parts. They do this with rocker arms, and they just don't work. Compare your "AMC" part number with those of small block Fords and Chevies. I am certain that springs are made that do not require machining. Try Harland Sharp. They make the best rocker arms, perhaps they have springs too.
