I thought I was having carb problems and found that my distributor had worn off it's lobes. After fiddling with the carb and changing the distributor I thought the problem was all solved. WRONG! It all started when I ran it out of gas. About a month before that I took it off-road and created an exhaust leak, it also seemed to stumble when it was on an incline. I was running alcohol with the gas when it ran out. I ended up burning up the starter trying to get it started when I filled it back up. After another starter, distributor, and carb fiddling, it runs, rough. It starts fine and idles fine, but when I rev it up it stumbles and coughs on the way up. When it gets up to tempurature it sumble and coughs so badly that it shuts off, and is very difficult to start again. It was suggested to me that it might be the exhaust being too close to the fuel line. I checked and the exhaust leak is next to the fuel line, but like I said the exhaust leak was a month old and should have shown itself earlier (shouldn't it?). Here is what I have found. The fuel line to the filter has fuel as does the line to the carb and the other (overflow back to the tank?) line. When it reaches normal operating temp of 190F it stumbles & shuts off. Now the line from the pump to the filter has gas, but the line to the carb & other(overflow?) line is empty. My first thought was the fuel filter, but why would it operate under normal temp and not during normal temp? Besides a fuel filter shouldn't be affected by temp. My second thought was the electric fuel pump, maybe it's gone bad. My third thought was the exhaust leak, but it'll stumble right after I start it, not enough time for the exhaust leak to heat up the fuel and cause the vapor lock. Any how the main problem is that the fuel is not getting to the carb.

P.S. Sorry if this hard to read and understand I might have said some things twice. I was watching Mchales Navy while I was typing this.

I drive a Isuzu NPR Sweeper Truck Becouse of the dirt the fuel tank exhaust gets cloged so the truck stalls and stubbles so I have to keep the Gas cap loose untill i can clean the exhaust on the tank.
