Hey guys,
I recently found some rust bubles under the driver side carpet and will hopefully salvage the floor pan.
But call me crazy....I was thinking of doing this. I dont know if it is overkill or just a waste of money but I could use your thoughts.
After, hopefully, repairing the floor board...duraline the interior floor boards and cargo area of my chero.
After that...put down some dynomat and then a BJ's carpet kit.
Is this too radical or is this something that will help seal and protect all of the other floor metal in the cab?
Any and all advise is appreciated.
thank you,

Wow...very cool....I thought I was just over obsessive with it.
How does fatmat compare to dynomat?
How would you prepare the bottom for undercoating?
Thank you...

fatmat is better than dynamat........ easiest way to prepare the bottom is to power wash it, if your anal you can spray it with brake cleaner
most guys prefer fatmat over dynamat extreme, hell, its $130 for 100sq.ft so theres plenty if you choose to double it up which is what im wanting to do

When in doubt always try the obvious when it comes to web searches...

Yeah! Wow that stuff is a heck of alot less expensive than Dyna mat. Even if it doesnt work as well for that price you could double it up like has been said.
You arent doing over kill I planned on doing the same. I am going to try and reuse my original carpet and insulation as it is in pretty good shape and doesnt smell terrible. I was going to go with the 3M Shultz on the interior floor and inside the doors as well as inside the wall panels behind the rear tire wells. then put as this stuff everywhere! i wonder if it will work just the same if you don't actually use the adhesive side to mount it to the floor.

Here are my floor boards. The rest of the cab looks pretty good. My ?? is, do you guys think this is too bad to try the POR patch system or should I try to cut them out and replace?? Kill the rust with the POR stuff and then patch the holes with the cloth and putty that they sell. I have not been able to find any replacement panels for the floor boards on the net yet and I am not a skilled enough metal worker to fabricate them myself. I do want to do things the "right way" so that I don't have problems down the road, but this will never be a show truck.
Thanks,
Chad

The PO for mine also laid fiberglass on the underside of the pans.
