In the process of swapping my intake and carburator we decided to check the valves as well at the same time and we, my buddy and I, had a discussion on the clearance between the rocker arm and the pushrod. Is it 0,01 inch or is it torcking up to 23 Ft/lb?

It's not a solid-lifter cam, so the pushrod should preload the lifter by about .030". If everything is in good shape, practically speaking it means you should just torque down the rocker-arm bridge to spec with that piston at TDC. To do that, I get the #1 cylinder at TDC, torque the bolts, turn the engine a 1/4-turn, torque the next cylinder in the firing order, and so on, until I'm back to #1 again. This assures that you'll get an accurate torque reading on the bolt.
