okay so i'm not getting enough voltage from my alt. 12.5-13 volts. i take it down to autozone and i get a full 14.4 volts so i know it's not the alternator. this means i'm losing voltage somewhere ala resistance, right? so i need to find the old wire and replace it right? or could this be a short?

next question! more OD stuff :D

could one take the innards from a 4L80E and stick 'em into a TH400 AMC and run an independant computer to get an OD auto tranny capable of handling a v8?

thanks smile.gif

I'd start with the battery, check the connections, water level, cables, then the solenoid, the connections at the alternator and wires. If those are all ok, then put a meter in line from the battery and watch the needle as you pull fuses. When you find the circut with the drain on it the meter will tell you. Then all you have to do is look for the short.
