Am considering installing and Edelbrock Performer manifold and carb on my rebuit engine. Was wondering if anyone else has had issue with this setup. Had on my other Jeep an Edelbrock carb, but not the aluminum intake.(Was an AMC 4bbl manifold)
Afreind of mine had the Edelbrock MANIF./Carb setup on his Wagon and had issues with hot soak restarts. Any input appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Andy

I think enough guys have Edelbrock components that it goes without saying they work well.
As for heat soak problems, one thing to make sure to do with an Edelbrock manifold: remove the heat shield from the bottom of the stock manifold and install it in the Edelbrock. That's one of the first things I look for when someone shows me an Edelbrock manifold for AMC V-8's. I've got a Holley manifold (no longer made) that is cast with a full bottom, so it doesn't need the heat shield.

Hey Trssho,
I have that same set up on my 79 cherokee only thing is mine is not smog legal. I have the edelbrock non egr manifold and 600 cfm carb.I'm yet to purcase the cam to complete the package. I'm happy with my set up.It has never failed to start on the first try even with the choke disconnected.I just never got around to connecting the manuel cable.
I'm so happy with this set up that I'm thinking about putting one on my wifes 87 GW but this time smog legal.
