and its done. What started out as literally a basket case from texas ..turned into a frame on resto. I did take the liberty of removing the side trim and replacing the Wagoneer logo with the early style. Its Saturn Midnight blue pearl and the interior is stiched in Bloodgood red. Still need to get the headliner and replace a door handle.

WOW! That is absolutely stunning! :omfg:
When I read about the red interior before seeing the pics, I was kinda like OK?
But that is beautiful, and very well played.

I hope the Duck can look that nice some day.

Really nice job on the restoration. Are you planning on storing it for the winter?

Nice job on the engine bay. Is the a/c compressor new?

What part of Michigan are you in?

Thanks for all the positive responses folks!

A few answers to IM's and questions. Yes, I did weld all the trim holes and ground it flush, the body was covered in surface rust but was incredibly solid being from Texas most of its life. When we got to blasting the underside I realized I couldnt turn this into a "beater". When the wife and I were trailering it back from buying it we were passed by a Saturn Sky and we both said...thats the color! She always wanted to do a toe head (white roof) and I actually had my painter get the materials but thought the rack set off the roof enough.

The interior took FOREVER to detail, paint, upholster, carpet, rewire etc. It was originally red interior but an ugly orange -red. I was thinking black interior but the wife said red would look sharp....she was right.

Changes from stock:

Aftermarket ignition box - Mallory digital
Holley Truck-600 EC
Blueprinted oil pump/ matched gear set/ rebushed dizzy
ALL new AC (no reman parts whatsoever)
Elec fan with digital relays (mech fan delete)
HAndbuilt 2.5" exhaust
MM transfer conversion
Cruise delete
BMW wiper squirters (gotta look close)
Warn manual hubs
Poly mounts / stablizer
Bumper mounts refabbed to sit tighter to body
DAsh woodgrain delete / coated and trim painted
Tailgate trim (lower) deleted and filled
Custom 4 core radiator
Killer Alpine /JBL/Boston tunes
and my favorite....Auto dimming mirror with temp, compass, and maplights!

This is one COMFY cruiser.

A funny story... a friend had stopped by just a few days ago and saw the tape on the rear quarters and the drill in my hand. I said Im going to put some holes in the virgin freshly painted sheetmetal.... he said "sure you are" and when I was done and the Wagonneer emblems mounted he said..."thats my favorite modification".

Yes it will never see winter again. It goes into the "collection". I am in the St Clair area.
