Would someone please explain to me how the disco on the front 44 works? I'm familar with the disco front axle on an XJ, but this looks a bit different. What exactly does the vacucum "disconnect"? Are the axle shafts one-piece, or is it a 2-piece shaft like the XJ Dana 30 with the sliding collar?
Sorry for the "noob" question... redface.gif

Hey Bill,
How ya been? Never had one apart sorry not much help I would think it is like the XJ's going to tackle no 4wheel in my Brother-in-law 93 YJ tomorrow night. Swap it out for a non disco.

There is a stub shaft in the diff on the drivers side with a collar to join it to the axle. The shift fork is on a bellcrank, attached to the front cover.
