I keep seeing rally wheels on CL, and they've been going dirt cheap. I was thinking about a set to use with HT 30's or 31's.
Does anybody know if the offset is correct for a Wag?

I had asked about another set of Chevy wheels and was told that chevy centers arent big enough to fit over FSJ hubs/flanges.

Well that just blows.
Wonder if a guy could have the holes opened up.

I owuld think that would make the wheels unsafe.

OK, now I got it. You meant the wheel center section. I though you meant just the center hole.:o
That still blows. A set of those painted chit knuckle brown with rings and caps would look sweet on my Wag.

No I did mean the center hole, but I think it you cut them to be bigger it would make the wheel weak.
I agree, there are several Chevy wheels that would look great.

Im pretty sure multiple members on here have put chevy rally wheels on FSJ's with zero issues. Heck they have to fit over the same hubs for chevys and fsj's

The Chevy ralleys are a good fit for a FSJ.

I have them on my 79 WT with 33" AT's. No problems with backspacing or offset at all. They're not going to be permament fixtures, but until I come up with the scratch for some beadlock rings for the stock wagon wheels they are what I'm running.

As long as they're off a solid axle Chevy they should fit with no problems. The center hole on older 6 lug rims are the same size no matter if they came off Chevy, Jeep, Nissan or Toyota.
Late model IFS 6 lug wheels have different backspacing.
ps I love the look of Chevy Ralley wheels!

I think Jeep actually used the Chevy ralley wheels on W/T cheros in '76 or somthing.

Both statements are true. The rally wheels jeep installed where painted white without trim rings, thats the way I painted mine.

I have some pics from a book that shows these wheels installed on new (then) Jeeps, But I lack the knowledge to download them here.

Jeep used GM Rally Wheels for a time.
The story goes that Jeep's wheel vendor was on strike and there a wheel shortage.
Jeep just purchased Rally Wheels from GM and it became an Option.
This has been told a few times in different locations...but I do not know if this Urban Legend or Fact.

Someone here mentioned once that the Chevy wheels they used in 76 were close but not exactly like the Chevy model. I have never compared them and have assumed they were indeed the same as the Chevy model with a different center cap.

That's the look I'm after. Almost. I plan on painting or powder coating them in brown to match my Wag. Caps I can live without, but I'm partial to rings.

I think the Jeep ones were painted white vs. the Chevy's silver, but other than that they sure look the same from pictures.
