GUESS WHAT!!! I washed my jeep for the first time ever today!! My boss said to me that it is so ugly and dirty from the pollen that people are going to think its a junk car and that people will pull off parts so he had me wash it...not so good http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/eek.gif...

I read somewhere that the doors are made so that the water goes right through them, my problem is that I am putting in new speakers and I do not want to ruin them from water...and that I leak from the top of the door in...And that because I have no water shields currently I leak through the door itself...

But it was really cool in the end when a guy came up to me and asked if I would sell...(it was shinnin)

Most car doors are designed that way! I believe that the inner shield has a flap that helps protect the speakers. When I installed speakers I got some heavy gauge plastic and used it and tape to add to the stock speaker shield. Also replace the window strips (the seals that go on the outside of the door between the door and window) if yours are old and worn. That will help keep alot of water from entering the door in the first place.

yeah, those weather strips for the door windows are about 9 or 10 bucks apiece and they are a bugger to get in! you can get speaker baffles wich are basically closed cell foam enclosures, they are supposed to add to your bass note on smaller speakers. I had eclipse 5.25s w/baffles in my doors for 4 or 5 years and they never got wet, i was missing the paper water shield thing in the door...no wet speakers...and my doors leaked BAD. I ended up putting my speakers in my headliner because i was tired of kicking the grills off by accident and having to turn the volume up too hear over the engine/exhaust/wind noise/tirenoise/etc. anyway, chripesler should be able to get the weather stripping for you...i had to order mine 3 times cuz they had a wrong part number in their computer...keep in mind, these seals and such are specific for driver/passenger inner/outer...none will interchange...the mounting holes are offset differently on each piece! have fun http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif
