I think it might be a good idea to have a section for salvage yard finds for all regions of the website.I don't know if it was tried before or not.I frequent these places a lot and found in San Antonio at least three cash for clunker grands that are sweet for parts in Pick and Pull. I have been pulling parts from there for a while now.

EDIT: By Tad
This seems to have worked pretty well so we have a place to list these.
Please read the posting rules here:

Thanks,

I know a lot of us have certain items we are looking for to complete our builds.

Here in Arkansas parts are really hard to find.

If we could post an on going list of said such items so when fellow FSJers go to the boneyards, we could be on a look out and post found items.

Just a thought...

I think it's a good idea also but am not sure if it would get that much attantion. I also think the board is a bit cluttered right now so I'm not sure about another section, at least at this point.

So let's try this:

I'll make this a sticky and if folks want to post up llinks, photos, phone numbers, etc. of their local FSJ slavage places we can come back and evaluate the demand later.

I know that I enjoy looking at pics from junkyard crawls, even if there isn't much FSJ content. Maybe this thread will encourage some more of them... as well as provide leads.

BEAR IN MIND THAT SOME FOLKS HERE, SAD TO SAY WILL NOT WANT TO LEAK OUT THEIR SECRET SOURCES FOR J TRUCK PARTS.

I am looking for a rear cargo cover for my 91 GW. I search and search. I have posted here in the wanted section with no luck.

I have found some on ebay... but always lose the auction. Some go for an outrageous amount.

My interior is cordovan or burgundy in color. I know it hit and miss on finding one, even the wrong color. So if one was found in a junk yard. I could call and maybe purchase it...

You folks feel free to have individual listings in the regional sections, it's a great idea.
What would be nice is if you could list if those yards have some type of inventory and wether or not they would pull and ship.
From that point the regional mod's could compose a master list that would possibly become a permanant link that folks could search in the wanted section.

Thanks,
Tad

Just figure that if you post a list that everyone outside of this forum is going to now also be a competitor for parts in that yard... particularly any 401's that become available. I'm willing to send stuff to folks as it becomes requested but I won't post an links/address's/phone numbers on a designated list for that reason... at least not in my area;)

Cascade Auto Wreckers in Lebanon, OR usually has a few wags on hand, and right now one J truck. I can and have shipped the smaller stuff for them and don't mind being the go-between for folks here on the board.

If anyone in the Houston area is interested theres a 80s wagoneer at a salvage yard, thats pretty cheap, close to Pearland near 288 on the northside of beltway 8, off of Almelda rd, Pm me if interested, I didnt get to get a good look at it because it wasnt ready for pulling parts off of yet, but body seemed straight, paint is shot though

While scrounging for parts today I found an 89 Grand Waggy with an aux fuel tank installed. It's heavy steel and professionally built. It's similar to the one in my Chief, but doesn't have the angle cutout at the pass. front corner.
If anyone wants this, send a PM or email me at jttg@sactownkillers.com.

I'd be willing to pull it and ship for a VERY modest fee.

Location is Sacramento, CA. 95610

My camera phone broke and the temporary phone doesn't have a camera, so I couldn't get pics.

The Pick 'N Pull off Loop 12 (Walton Walker Boulevard) in Dallas/Duncanville area has at least (2) Mid-90's Isuzu Rodeo's with the disc-brake'd 6-lug Dana44 rear axles. One Rodeo's build date was March-96. Didn't check the other one, I was darting all over the place like a kid in a toy store!

I spotted a grey '85 Wagoneer that was virtually complete. 360-727-229-Dana44-AMC20. The tan interior was excellent for the most part. Door panels, power window/lock switches, carpet, seats, dash, rear cargo area carpet and panels............all in very good shape. Only the window crank and door handles on the passenger side middle door panel were missing. If its still intact next week I might gut it to save the interior.

I spotted (3) '89 Chevy Suburbans with stock 56" rear springs still intact, TBI 350's (one looked like the TBI setup was stilll completely intact) and 700R4 trannys with NP241's attached. Spotted (2) early-mid 90's Chevy Z71 pickups with the 6-lug 14-bolt semi-float rear ends.

Scored a virtually brand new aluminum radiator for my Suburban for $50.

It was a great 1st trip to PNP. I can say with absolute lunacy that I will become addicted

Score!

the local PNP is stocked with goodies. Brought home a pair of SHO V8 Taurus fans and a CS144 alt off of a '93 DeVille.

Also picked up a pair of 56" rear Chevy springs from a Suburban, an XJ steering shaft I'll be using to tighten up the steering on my Suburban and the long-missing upper fan shroud for the Burb also.

I saw an '80 Suburban with a 14BFF under it, about (5) more Isuzu Rodeos with the 6-lug disc brake'd rear Dana44, the '85 Waggy is still there though the dash has been harvested as well as much under the hood. The axles are still under it and many good interior parts. Still has the 360-727-229 under it also.

Scored a CS144 off of a '91 Eldorado with the 4.9L this weekend, but forgot to check if it had the heated windshield:banghead:

I'm heading back in the morning before work anyway after the 'correct' Taurus electric fan. Turns out my SHO V8 fans aren't the correct versions without fabbing up a custom shroud.

I found this 64 (at least that's how they have it listed) Wagoneer at the Pull A Part in Nashville TN today. I joined this site not only for the love of all Jeeps but in the hopes that some of the parts on this beauty could be of use to someone before it goes to the crusher. I will be more than happy to take a return trip to the jy to pull parts for someone and ship them if needed. It is about 85-90% complete minus the hood and a few interior pieces.

Wow...does anyone have any reports or know of any good yards in the So Cal area...specifically Los Angeles County or Orange County?

Thank you..
