Im hoping the shackles getting flipped back caused the bent spring. Any advice on fabbing something to prevent the shackle from flipping back?

you could build a small bumpstop that bolts through the frame just in front of the shackle.....or possibly a shackle-strap

Yeah its easy to build a little stop back there. Your other choice is to not ram into immovable objects so hard :P

I just welded a small bar across the lower part of the shackle and it seems to be working. I did the same thing while running the Con this year.

LOL! deja vu all over again!

I broke the right front spring in the mudhole you pulled the Cherokee out of.

I took a highlift jack and raised one side up all the way and let the axle droop down. Then I measured the angle needed and the length. Welded it and haven't had a bent spring since.

X2 on not whacking hard objects with the shackle.

Or reverse shackle, but need a front driveshaft that slips more.
