Well, I have a Motorcraft 4350 from a 401
that is in need of a first class rebuild.
This is my first 4350 rebuild so I'm looking
for advice on best quality kit to buy (Napa?)
and any good tips and tricks to follow during the
rebuild process. Thanks in advance! I want this thing
to be as good or better than new.

What year? I'm sorry, I can't really help you out, but I know that my '74 (probably '74 and earlier years) had different manifolds...they used the 4300 carb. Someone somehow rigged a 4350 to this different manifold when I bought the car..anyway the whole thing was such a mess I just gave in and bought a Truck Avenger 770. Havent used it yet because the engine isn't together yet...just wanted to share my little bit of info with you! For those who don't know...the intake manifolds after '75 are different! Anyone wanna buy a 4350 in a few months?

Netbear,
I used the NAPA Echlin kit. It had all the parts I needed for around $20. Rebuild was pretty easy, I took my time, kept everything very clean, and cleaned everything thoroughly with carb cleaner. The kit came with a good exploded view diagram, but really there aren't many parts to a 4350. It's not a hard rebuild. Good luck. Mine runs great now, and starts on the first crank every time.

Netbear,
I agree with Brule on the ease of rebuild. I just rebuild my first 4350 a couple weeks ago with NO problems. Hint: use an egg container to keep the old parts separated, so you can compare them to the new parts and where they went.
I was a bit gun-shy of the rebuild after hearing horror stories of the 4350 internals, but there really isn't that many. If you can turn a screwdriver, read instructions, and measure things (float levels) you are in like Flynn!
I cannot attest to the quality of the NAPA kit, I bought my kit from Champion and was happy with the quality.
Good luck!

Other then keep every thing clean.
My other advise that I have found to be very handy when rebuilding carbs......
When it comes time to put it back together.
Take the highest part number on the exploded view. Then work your way down the part numbers. Flipping page over now and then to set things like float hight and stuff.
It works great, makes all the adjustments and assembly all fall into place real nice.
