T400...I need to swap the QT tailshaft into a GM case, want to rebuild as well. Are the bushings like main/rod bearings in a motor...replace them if you are in there or like cam bearings...don't mess with them?

I bought the book from Barnes and Noble and a rebuild video from Veepster. The video is pretty good, the book is intense...I think with the combination of the two I can manage. I have an extra trans that I am going to take a part for practice.

I thought that I might get some quotes from a couple of shops to replace the bushings.

i have a cam bearing tool i use to replace/install them some guys use bushing drivers(harbor freight) or you can go to a machine/trans shop with the new ones and they will install them for you if they look grey/silver you dont have to replace them just make sure you check the front pump bushing
