Well about an hour and a half ago, I was on my way home after work when somebody totaled my Jeep. Thankfully no one was injured. I am very depressed now that it is sinking in (my Jeep was my favorite car I've owned). My other two Waggys met similar demises. One was totaled when I was rear ended the other died of a mysterious engine fire (love that Jeep wiring).
Anyway I just needed to let off some steam. Tomorrow is a new day and I'll start looking for a new Jeep, maybe a J-truck this time.
Thanks,
Tom

Glad you and the other(s) are OK.
I am also sorry for your loss. Gosh I just got my POS, and I kinda have a rael love/hate thing for it.
Take care of your self tonight.

That sucks Tom! But I'm glad you are OK. The old girl gave her life to save yours. There's something to be said about being surrounded by 5000 pounds of steel in a collision.

Sorry about the ride. But now you get to start something new, do something different.
Glad you're ok, by the way....

Sorry to hear that, glad you are OK. The Jeep can be replaced, you can't. Hopefully you can pull a few parts off of the Jeep and stick them on your new one.

Well, the insurance company approved my claim and is picking up my Jeep on monday. They are going to tow it to Littleton (about 60 miles north of me) and are going to estimate the damage. I think they will total it out, but I'm going to keep it and fix it. Now is the time I suppose, to cut the fenders. Anybody got any idea what kind of flairs will fit?
Thanks for the kind words.
Tom
P.S. The insurance company rented me a Camry. It's really nice but I was told it would be a Charger. I was gonna do some serious burnouts!
P.P.S. Hey Brubakes, nice J-20 but it's waaaaaaaaaaay out of my price range.

Yes, I am sure it sucks bad that your rig is gone, but its important to focus on the fact that no one was hurt.

I think they will total it out, but I'm going to keep it and fix it. Do it!
This is what I did with the J10 that was totaled just after I picked it up and drove it 50 miles.

I can relate with you...that was a very sad day.
I received $2420 and bought it back for ~$90
It was repaired and when my Geo Prizm died, I pressed my J10 into DD service.

Here is it parked at the Wabash County Government complex.
Next, here is it is on the last trip that I took it on:

It's 360's cam has gone bad, so I'm hosting a WOT to swap its 360 out.
Bottom Line: They can be fixed!

After the usual insurance uhhh... business, they accepted liability. They are picking the Jeep up tomorrow for it's trip to Littleton. I have two questions. One, I tried to find the "actual cash value" with little to no luck so anybody got any idea what my Jeep may be worth? Also, anybody got a Razor grill they are looking to get rid of?
THANKS TO ALL,
Tom

Really glad you are okay. Damage doesn't look that awful bad. I know pictures don't always tell the whole story however. Frame bent? If not, it'll all be good.

That doesn't look too bad Tom! If the frame's not bent it sure could be salvageable.

Looks to be about the same amount of damage to my J10 (just on the opposite side)

Finding sheet metal to repair your Wagoneer will be easy.
Finding W/T sheet metal for my J10 was nice as easy, but I still found some.
Good luck!

A new front clip and some frame straightening (possibly) and you'll be good as new. If the windshield didn't crack and the doors still open the way they did before, the cabin is probably OK. Get a new water pump, fan and fan clutch if the fan impacted the radiator. They can get jarred in weird ways.
Good luck with the insurance. :-/

I guess i would be depressed if mine looked as nice as that one does but I did almost the exact same thing to the front of mine when I put it on its side in a ditch after a really nasty ice storm. Plus I added a bunch of dents all down the side... I was in a really remote area and it was about 30 degrees and raining though and i was NOT about to be stuck... I removed the groceries from the drivers side window where they had fallen, stuck it in 4x4 and mashed it to the floor... Got me out and got me home and thats all that matters to me :D
I never even got out to check to the damage until I got home (aside from body damage I lost a axle hub cover, sheared off a wheel lug and lost the marker lights on the side but other than that it was fine). Didn't even break any glass though the windows were pretty well covered in mud.

Thanks again to everybody,
The frame is straight (took some measurements with my brother), the thing drives straight, and the radiator is ok. So, should just be cosmetic damage. I should have an answer from the insurance company in the next few days.
These things are tanks!!!
