Is it possible to get a power brake assist setup for a '63 gladiator pickup? It's got 4 wheel drums and I'm not sure how they'll do when driven daily..

They will be exactly like the 4 wheel drums on mine. If you use good shoes, keep them adjusted and exercise common sense driving they are ok. I have a 66 wag and have been looking at power brakes for it and think it should be a bolt in.

:D Get a hold of Retro93, he just finished the Hydroboost set up on his Chero... he is loving it! As far as putting a booster on, I do believe that you can retrofit a booster but why not go with the HB setup? Just as much $$, and better braking. BTW, I plan on the HB setup soon, mostly so i can bring those big meats to a stop a lot sooner! :D

I thought the '66 Waggy had Bendix self adjust brakes... I know the '67 did.
The bendix drum brakes are "self actuating" and quite a bit less pedal effort is needed for the same amount of whoa compared to the older type. Once upon a time I converted a early J300 to bendix type from a donor Waggy and the improvement was quite noticable.

Any idea on where I can get the hydroboost? How much do they go for?
