At the bottom is a clip of the Waggy... It's not the prettiest and it's definitely not the quietest... The red marks identify the cancer that needs to be removed from the previous owner...
Don't mind the engine bay and the mess/clutter as I haven't gotten around to clean it up...
My plans for this beast isn't on the normal path that most would take... Currently is has a well built AMC 360, Race Built TH350 and Ford NP205... Yeah I know, It's a mut mixed with various parts... lol. My plans were to cut out the cancer and bring her back to life... BUT, then I started digging a little deeper and deeper and decided that it's probably not worth the time, money and effort... Did I mention that I was severly limited with both time and money. So, my plans continue on... MODS... Here are just a few... chopping the top and removing everything from behind the driver/passenger seats. Any suggestions/ideas?
I will be doing a full roll-cage tied to the frame and eventually (money providing) I will have a custom cover to help shelter the victims that ride in the back...
The one tons will be rolling under her either this winter or the beginning of next summer... Depends on how motivated I am...
When the 1 tons go under her the rear axle will be pushed back 8"... Of course a little cutting is needed but that shouldn't be a problem as that section is full of cancer.
Well, here is a short clip of the Waggy idling and as you can see there is a lot of work that has to be done to her...
I'm looking for ideas for mods etc... and for those of you that are purists... you know it's time to go a different route rather than trying to restore it when JUNKYARD waggies are in better condition than yours... Trust me, I'd love to restore it but, that just isn't a possibility at this point and time.

Nice and choppy :D

So, let me get this straight, the red marks the spots where "cancer needs to be removed from the previous owner" ......is the previous owner tied up behind the wheel well?

I'd recommend finding you a good set of Chevy 63" rear springs to sling under the frame. Nice and flexy. I'm not a purist, per say,but I like the look of Waggy's so much that I hate to see the roof chopped. Behind the rear doors isn't bad,but all the way up to the driver/passenger seat just leaves you with two half-doors that look goofy, IMO.

Anyway, tube doors look great and really help visibility offroad. I'd tie a good sturdy set of rock sliders to the rollcage for structural rigidity.

Maybe not from the PO owner but, The PO lives down the road from me and he's also in the Navy. He has a GW that has some really nice goodies under the hood that he is selling...

I've been looking at set from a local forum... I just need to go over and pick them up...

I completely agree with you on how goofy it looks when chopped behind the front seats... I have a picture on the computer that's chopped and then I drew in the roll cage and colored a tanneau cover and it looked decently good ;). I had the roll-cage keeping to the body style. I'll have to clean up the picture and post it... at the moment it looks like a 4yr old played with it... lol

I think there is a GW on one of these forums that has the tube doors... they looked great... I might go that route of course $$$$ always comes into play.. I need to win the lottery...

Oh-Yes, the neighbors... Well, lets just say they haven't spoke to me in a few days :D... I live on a street with a bunch of retired folks.. (70's etc)... The old man across the street loves it as he's an old fighter pilot... I think he's pushing the late 70's...
As for the noise... well, if they don't like it now just wait until it's on the road...... I'll end up putting true dual 3" exhaust with the 40 series mufflers so she'll still sound "meaty"

The body is decent for the most part... the floor pans are shot, the bottom of the front doors are shot, the rear top corners of the roof and the bottom of the rear windows are rusting through... there are a few holes in the roof from the racks etc...

I'd love to find a waggy that I can use as a parts vehicle and cut/weld sections to this waggy... Hmmm, there are a few GW's in the junkyard at the moment... I wonder is my sawsall is up to the task or if the junkyard will allow me to cut sections from the vehicles???

When I bought mine I was gonna take the whole roof off, tube doors, roll cage to frame--street legal, but just 'go to hell' Waggy. Got it for $900 off Craigslist in Little Creek. Drove it home, put a rear main seal in. Well turns out its so straight, solid and rust free I couldnt bear to cut it up! I had some spare doors so I made some 1/2 doors. Very happy with that.....for now!! Def Flowmaster 40s!!!!!

Tube Doors

This guy (Nate Marsh) actually removed the skins from his stock Waggy doors and made it so he could still fasten the skins to the tube doors to be able to keep the stock look somewhat. His brother Brad (budojeeper) is a member on this board. That "stinger" rear bumper by Poison Spyder Customs is bad "la""la""la" too

I need to win the lottery

Tell me about it :banghead:

Also, if you do end up inboarding a pair of 63's out back Tad on this board makes the brackets you'll need for the main eye/shackle ends up under the frame

Yeah man... it seem like the little creek/ocean view/military hwy area has a slew of Wags and GW's... and they're relatively cheap. I got mine for $700... Sold a few things and now I'm almost even...

Wickedwagon767.... Does TAD have a site? As for poison spyder... I have a few goodies from them as well... (For the CJ)... Nice stuff for sure. I'm actually selling my Poison Spyder Full-Width Outboard Kit (CJ-7)... Too bad Poison Spyder closed shop... Didn't he move back to Texas? Either way, Poison Spyder did a lot of people good... a beer salute is in-order.
