Hey There,

We are new to this site & so glad to become members!
We have a 1974 J10 truck with a fuel gauge issue. Does anyone know where we might find a fuel tank sending unit?

Also, we would like to replace the crappy/tacky seat that is currently in it. We have searched many bone yards & have yet to find a bolt in application. It appears the current seat in our truck is from a wagoneer. Any suggestions on other vehicle seats that may work? Or, is the wagoneer seat the only comparable replacement?

We look forward to any responses. BTW we live near Spokane. A local shop had checked around & was unable to locate a sending unit.

Thanks & Happy Jeepin to ALL!

Check the vendor section for BJ's and ZM Jeeps. If they can't help you out, put up a wanted ad, got to be some out there, and the folks here are real reasonable on pricing, and most all are pure gold to deal with. (sending unit.) Most of the trucks had bench seats, as did some wags. Might have to take some measurements and look around for something close and do some fab work on the brackets or redrill the floor. If your frame work is still good, look into getting it redone with new foam, etc. Or look to a pair of later buckets and the center armrest filler out of a wag of cherokee

Rose,

I "think" this section is kinda dedicated to discussions between people just in this area of the country. I might suggest you post this up again in the General of Tech areas where most folks reside.... BJs off road should have a sender for you for the gas tank I think. I "think" it has to be a certain "Ohms" to work right. Call "Brent" here and tell him Brad sent you!

I got one from BJs years ago for a different model and rebent it to work in my '76. Aside from having to re-solder the tubes going in, it was quite successful.
