My 91 Wag was at one time in it's life (well before I owned it) blue. All of the paint is bad, and there is rust on one door, but not too bad, and then along the wood trim where the rivets go in. The wood grain looks good, but I know if I get it painted, it will have to come off. I bought it to fool around with, and didn't want to get it painted, but the darn thing is running so well now, that I am starting to think I want it took look good too. So, how much should I expect to pay to get a decent paint job? What about putting the woodgrain back on? Any advice?

Hmmm....there's a lot of ifs and maybe's when it comes to cost of stuff...It really depends on how good of job you want done and how much you can do yourself... Stuff you can do yourself to save money and for a better paint job results - remove door handles and lock cylinders, remove door windows and weatherstripping, remove antennae, remove grille lamps turn signals markerlights roof rack etc etc I think you get the idea - most respectable body shops will WANT to do the prep work themselves because #1 straightening a body is not as easy as it seems and #2 they can offer you a full warranty - I would reckon you can expect to pay around $1200 for a really good paint job that includes rust repair and body prep

my brother just got his pickup painted... cost hime 3000 bones.... and then when they were taking out his front windsheild they broke it so HE had to buy another one.. a little clause they have saying if they break it you buy it... seems kind of weird to me....

I paid $650 to get my old Corvette painted, then $3500 to get it painted again a year later.

Like the man said, it depends on how much you do yourself, and how good a paint job you want.

Whatever you do, don't give it to the first bidder. Shop around based on reputation, and don't assume the lowest price is the best deal.

One other word of warning, some folks have found the evil cancer under the fake wood.
