Gentleman, First of thanks for keeping me motivated ( and Broke :D )with yalls build ups yall are awesome. I finally scored a passenger drop kingpin d60, and rear d70 for my 79 chief and am dying to install them, but I am lacking lot of experiance in this subject :banghead: . My questions are?

1: Can I install the D70 rear with the quadratrac transfer and be ok?

2: Am I going to run into aligment/vibration problems?

3: Is there anything I need to relocate ( gas tank, ect..)

4: Have anybody else done this ( am sure yall have ) and maybe can guide me in the right direction?

I am eventually goin to install a d300 but after this purchase I may have to wait a little while, so I really like to install this and get that out of the way. I will greatly apreciated any help, and advice.

I ran a centered diff w/QT with 0 issues. SOA on 37s.

ncjeepers wheels his Qt Chief pretty hard and he's running a centered CUCV 14b w/no issues. The driveshaft may look funny at the angle, but it will work...

How much lift do you have?

If you dont have a lot of lift, you will have to shorten both drive shafts. Also,(without a lot of lift) the D70 is likely going to smack your gas tank skid plate.

Man thats great, now that I know it will work I am going to install a SOA and rear shackel flip kit. I want to keep it simple for now so I plan on relocating the rear spring perches on the axel to match the factory springs on the chief. The front i am goin to move the springs to match the axel that way if I want to add more lift I can just order new springs from BJs. Unless anybody can suggest a easier way, and belive me I am open to suggestions. I have pair of 35s for now, and eventually I want to run 38s. Thanks for yalls help.

You should be fine like that in the back, the Chero frame is narrower than a JTruck which can lead to inboarding the springs depending on what you have for spring plates.

My D70 HD is 55" between the closest part of the backing plates, same as the Jeep D60 in my driveway... but the Jeep spring plates have more clearance than any aftermarket plates I've see because they are cast iron not bent steel.

You should have no problemo.

Great, now how about the front? Am I on the right track? or can some one share something that I may be missing with me. I was to be as efficient as possible, and hopefully get it right the first time. My fabricating skills are fairly descent I think so :banghead: am open to suggestions.

Whats the 60 out of? My Dodge D60/D70 were both direct swaps. No perch movement required.

93 Dodge pick up. It came with what looks like lift blocks that also houses the shock mounts from factory. I mesured the pads on the axels with out those blocks and they didn't match up to my factory springs. I haven't not measured them withe blocks on tho. Maybe I should huh. I just thought they were a dodge think, and I haven't seen or heard of anybody using them. I can post a pic if it will help.
