Ok. I am the worst mech in the world.

but I am trying all sorts of new things this week and so far , so good.

So should I replace the vacuum lines or let them be.
You see the PO has dead ended many of them. one with a golf tee coming out of the left side of the carb.

A.
It's running now so.. If it ain't really broke don't fix it.
or
B.
Fix all the vacuum lines and you be happy trust me.

I know the importance of the vacuum stressed on this forum.
I just don't want to make it worse.

Any one else have a similar experience?

Replacing them can't hurt you as long as you hook them back in the right spots. Replace them one at a time and go for it.

Get a good vacuum diagram...Get some lengths of different size hoses....and go at at. Go through the diagram 1 line at a time and check each one for proper routing and cracks, etc. I guarantee you will find a couple that are broken or misrouted. It's also a good time to check cto's, egr, pcv, etc for proper operation. I finally did this a couple months ago when replacing the carb and intake and I wished I had done it about 80,000 miles ago.
