What are all of your timing settings, guys? By ear, mine seems to run smoothest directly on TDC, but my temp is still around 200 - hmmmm btw NEW '74 401 with all new accessories (dizzy, etc. stock points), Truck Avenger 770, drives great, doesn't smell rich, definitely doesn't seem lean...see specs in sig...why does it still seem that 200/210 is a little high? :( Still gonna hook up all the crap to it and adjust it, but I want your opinions first. Thanks!

By the way, the hood is off and it drops a bit to around 185/190 when driving, highest it's been while idling is about 205/210 after about 10 minutes.

Something's not right there.... at TDC your truck shouldn't even start, let alone run it's smoothest. I would check all the vacuume hoses and make sure there's no cracks or leaks, and then i'd probably change out all the plugs. I found out the hard way that they don't like alot of starting and idling in the drive for long periods of time, can screw em up good. You might also have the distributor a tooth or two off....but that's only for accurate timing with the marks. I'd check all those things, just so i know where i'm actually sitting, but if it runs good there, then it's probably not too wrong.

About 12 to 15 w vaccum hose removed and plugged. Idle at 850, and read about 19"
