What components draw power through fuse #4? Last month I swapped the defroster relay and thought I cured the problem. Alternator and battery are OK. Last night drove for an hour on the hiway and this morning, nothing. Lights don't even flicker, zero juice in the battery.
Only thing I can think is I did use the tailgate window yesterday a few times using the tailgate key switch. What could I potentially look for there. I'm fairly sure that runs off fuse #4. Am I right?

I remember a post a while back...that someone thought they're tailgate was draining they're battery....It turned out it was ...The relay was stuck in an open postition and he also had small ground out where the wire goes into the tailgate...
hope that helps...
I remember it because I said i doubted it could drain his battery "deader than a doornail"....
but I was wrong...

That somebody was me :( . I'm now wondering if something else is/was involved. Does it seem possible that if the switch on the tailgate you use to open the tailgate window doesn't return to its normal position, you would have power drain? That's a though I have, anyway.

the switch on the dash is spring loaded, so it shouldn't stay open. I've found though that if I use the key in the back I have to make sure the key is completely vertical before removing it or the switch inside won't work. It could be draining power that way?

There are two curcit breakers in the fuse block that control the tail gate window the one at the bottom is for the dash switch the one at the top is for the key switch, pop both out and test for a drain on the battery.

I'll check for any exposed wires where they go into the tailgate from the body, and will check the fuse block area for those circuit breakers that Steve mentioned.
I'll also have my cables with me just in case.
