Has anybody come up with a way to doorless a waggy? I know how to doorless the XJ's pre 97, and the rear doors on my 84 have the same hinge setup, so those wouldnt be a problem. But the front door hinges are crazy intrique. Just wondering if somebody else had any ideas or knowledge as to how it was done.

If you want doorless just unbolt the hinge from the body and no more doors.

They are incredibly easy. I remove my doors almost every time I go wheeling. There are three bolts per hinge in the door jamb. All you need is a 9/16 socket and an extention.

I figured that was one way of doing it, I was just wondering if there was a way to slide em on n' off, like the XJs. Just to neglect the use of a socket, if there was any other setups people have tried.

Also another question I do have, Is there a quick disconnect somewhere in there for the wiring harness or do I need to make my own?

I haven't done this but I think Summit has a connector that would work. It's a plastic plate with brass contacts. You mount one to the door and one to the body. When the door shut the brass makes contact and completes the circuit. I'll check their site and post a link if I find it.

thats a clutch idea. i dont know if it would work for the fronts, since there is at least a 6-7 recession from the door to the body but yea if you can find that link post it up. I'd love to read up on that

I like being able to use the switches and hear the speakers with the doors open, so I would go with a connector there. Just my .02....

There is a disconnect if you pull it out of the door enough.

I have been looking into ways to do a quick disconnect on the hinges.
A couple Idea's in mind, but nothing in the ways of a working model yet.

You have to understand, these doors are HEAVY. I'm sure the XJ doors are not.
