i need opinion on the bed size of the new truck .with the new cab put on i will have a 5'8'' bed.
is that to small?
or
should i extend the bed to 6' without extending the frame.
or

i'm shooting for having the crew cab on this weekand.as for hauling heavey loads the most would be 500 pounds of dogs.as for 4x8 sheets i think with the tailgate down i'll be fine with 5'8'' bed.
pictures are coming soon.
yes flint, it is a 8' bed for now anyways.

so pull up guys need some opinions.

I voted for 6ft. Just because it's a nice round number. Like others have said if it were me I'd just get a trailer.

the project i'm shooting for is the ultimate camping rig.so i might have to sleep in it one day.i have no problem turning around on mountian roads with a wagon, but with the truck is a different stroy especially when adding more length to the rear end of the truck.
wait and see what i do for a canopy.

It depends on your use. If I were to sleep in the back on occasion I would need a full 6 feet to keep from bumpin my head against it, assumin closed quarters. Now if you intend to rig up some kind of truck tent with the gate down, shorter is better for back trails.

Leave it. I have often wanted to shorten the bed on my truck to lessen the rear overhang.

If I were in your shoes I couldn't see going less then 7' and even then I would want a full 8'.
