Exactly how it reads. I did manage to get U-Pull-And-Pay to take him so maybe someone can get something useful out of him.:(

16-year-old daughter turned right on a red, hit a bus and then a traffic signal pole. At first I was thinking new front clip until ALL 4 doors wouldn't open. As the 3rd thumb shows, the frame is trash. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Edit: Everyone came out relatively unscathed, just sore.

I sure hope your daughter is OK Mark. That must have been a heart thumper! The GW paid the ultimate price to keep your daughter from serious harm.

Thanks guys...I did forget to mention, Steph and John are both fine. Seatbelt bruises and Steph banged her head, I guess on the driver's window, but the doc says she's just fine but will be pretty sore. I can get another Jeep. Can't replace the kids.

I was really praying they wouldn't need it, but that's why I got the Jeep. Ooh-rah American (Motors) Steel. I can't even think about what might have happened in a newer smaller car.

It was a smaller airport-parking-lot-style bus, only the driver onboard. She was neither shaken nor stirred.

There are more then one intersection in this town with the little white crosses at them. I'm glad all is well with yours.:thumbsup: for AMC, I'll take steel over airbags any day.

Exactly.
And exactly why they had a GW for a starter car.

Mark, really glad to hear your daughter is okay. This isn't the 1st time our non-aerodynamic rigs have saved one our butts. Hug that kiddo tight and start looking for another Wag.

glad to hear she is okay.it's amazing how tough the rigs are.i once hit a tree stump at 40mph almost rolled down a ravine.the tow truck pulled it out and it ran for another 7 months:huh: only damage was a bent bumper.now the cab is waiting to be mounted on the truck.
god bleesed the jeep.

Glad to hear everyone is OK. My 87 paid the price years ago with a 30 MPH side impact, brother and I walked away.

Jeesh, Mark - I wouldn't have acted so excited to scavenge that jeep that you posted about in the tech forum if I had known it was due to your loss!

Glad to hear everyone is okay, and perhaps we can touch base in Colorado Springs before too long!

I am glad all are ok, thank goodness but BIGGER IS BETTER is not always the case. This is a old design vehicle, no airbags, not crumble zones, nothing really to take the forces of a hit. A head on in this vrs a head on in say a Grand Prix or similar modern car would probably have one walking away feeling much better, lack of soreness, bumbs bruises, etc.

Glad no one was seriously injured. You can always get another waggy.

Glad to hear everyone's OK. Might want to have her head checked out for closed head injury if the doc hasn't already done that.

Mine looked similar after I rear-ended a 91 Jetta. Also bent the passenger side frame rail. I wonder what it is about the passenger frame rail?

Mark, glad everyone is okay, sorry to hear about the Jeep but having the kids come of that with no damage is the best sacrifice the old Jeep can give you.

As a father of 3 little ones this is the main reason I got the Waggy to play with---big, heavy, and safe. I now DD it as well. The family vehicle is a 2001 Excursion 4x4. Its got the V10 and gets about 11mpg...same as the GW. It was not fun filling it up when gas was $4 a gallon, but worth peace of mind knowing family was riding safe. Ive already decided each kids first vehicle is gonna be a FSJ! REALLY GLAD TO HERE YOUR KIDS ARE OK!!

Glad to hear no one was really hurt, Mark. It's a shame about the Wag, but THOSE are replaceable.

We're seriously considering an Excursion as well. I want a late '05 Powerstroke 4x4. :drivin:

Yes the children survive and the Jeep is appreciated:thumbsup:.

My Daughter just turned 16 and I plan on giving her my FSJ for a starter vehicle as well. I even took her to a WOT on the Tellico Grand Wagoneer today. She enjoyed it and is looking forward to wrenching on the "89".

Lately I have been trying to come up with a bumper sticker saying something along the lines of> "How do you value your family in MPG?"

There are so many people out there that don't take their lives in consideration (Yet alone the family) when buying a crumple car.

Finally I saw for the first time on the road last week a "Smart Car". The first thing that came to my mind was you ain't going to look so smart in this if you get in an accident!
