I have problem with filling up my 77 J10. Whenever the gas pump shuts off, a good amount of fuel squirts

out of the fillerneck down the side of the truck as I remove the pump handle. I am in Calif., so I have the

extra environmental condom on the pump handle that contributes to the difficulty of securing the handle in

the fillerneck. I do not believe this is the reason for the overflow backsplash? I have given thought to

changing out the stock fillerneck with the style from a 80-86 CJ. The J10 neck is horizontal and the CJ

style slopes downward. Has anyone attempted this modification or had the need? I thought The CJ slope

may stop the backsplash. If someone has made this modification, are the fuel hoses the same size or does it

matter? I have been unable to view a later model J10 to see if the filler design for the 80-86sis different

from my year model. Suggestions or Comments?
